Deputy Director

 

Jinny is an organizational leader and editor with extensive experience in management, program planning, development, communications. She has worked for more than 10 years at non-profit and mission-driven organizations cultivating innovative strategies in architecture, art, urbanism, and policy. She has particular interest in the intersection of design and culture with social, political, and economic issues that impact the future of our cities and society. Jinny serves as Storefront’s Deputy Director, working with the Executive Director and Chief Curator to oversee the organization’s innovative and experimental programming, as well as its operations, fundraising, and public outreach.

 

Jinny has a Master of Science in Urban Planning from Columbia University’s GSAPP, where she received the Charles Abrams Scholarship, the AICP Award for Outstanding Attainment in Planning, and the William Kinne Fellows Traveling Prize. She holds a BA from Emory University (magna cum laude) with a focus in International Studies, Spanish Linguistics, and Arabic. Jinny has also worked as a freelance consultant on data strategy, mapping, community development and outreach, and business planning, particularly for clients involved in the food systems and technology sectors. She has also worked as an independent writer and editor, and is the Chair of the American Planning Association New York Chapter’s Food Systems Committee. She speaks Spanish, Punjabi, Hindi and Standard & Egyptian Arabic.
