Temporary Public Art explored the work of five artists who embrace ephemerality and temporary conditions as inspiration for the production of public art works. The exhibition included documentation of and elements from temporary projects by Jenny Holzer, Alfredo Jaar, Krystof Wodiczko, Kate Ericson and Mel Ziegler. Presenting themselves as critics of the professionalization of the production of public art, these artists sought to question assumptions about the nature of artistic intervention in public space.
