The Pull of Beauty, curated by Victoria Milne and Kiki Smith, examined the role of decoration and ornament in modern design, and posited the existence of forms of decorative perception that are not visual. Featuring prototypes and drawings for new functional hardware designs by eleven artists, architects and designers, the exhibition was intended to reassess the prevailing prejudice against decoration and to consider the possibility of a renewed ornamental vocabulary.
